Meet Lamont Jones

Lamont D. Jones is a respected entrepreneur and community leader who is a native of Harrisburg and a proud graduate of Harrisburg High. He is the founder & CEO of Jones Resources, LLC, which has garnered regional acclaim for reimagining workforce development initiatives, promoting entrepreneurship, and empowering hard-to-place residents with transformative job readiness training.

With a distinguished career in public service and advocacy, Lamont has made significant strides in addressing critical social issues and fostering healthy community engagement. As the former executive leader of a regionally acclaimed grassroots non-profit organization, he was responsible for spearheading initiatives to tackle behavioral health and substance abuse challenges head-on. A recognized authority in civic education, Lamont has developed a passion for educating the community about civics, voting rights, and fostering healthy constituent-public official relations. His experience with coordinating political campaigns has been rooted in developing strategic partnerships and driving impactful voter engagement and advocacy efforts.

In addition to his local efforts, Lamont’s leadership also extends to statewide advocacy, where he has led and coordinated efforts on issues such as gun violence, public safety, and restorative justice. These efforts have earned him public recognition and has resulted in him becoming a graduate of the Martin Luther King Leadership Development Institute (Where he was elected as the class speaker in 2018) and the proud recipient of the Community Ambassador Award, the Bridge Builder Award, the Golden Rule Award, and the Victory Award.

In his role as a senior member of the Dauphin County Prison Community Advisory Committee, Lamont has been instrumental in developing best practices and driving institutional policies based upon the concepts of justice and rehabilitation. Elected to Harrisburg City Council in 2023, Councilman Jones continues to make impactful strides in local governance and creating safer neighborhoods. He seeks to further amplify his impact if elected as your next mayor.
